Plus: This is a wonderful, sweet book by Lisa Bergren explaining adoption from a spiritual point of view. It touches on birth mothers, waiting, and waiting, and waiting....and the promise of a forever family. This is my favorite line talking about the wait to be together forever: "I trusted that God knew you, and knew me, and knew when we'd fit perfectly together."
Minus: Crying like a baby in the middle of the Christian bookstore.
Challenge: Reading it to Charlie someday without bursting into tears.
This book sounds beautiful. I"m sure you will be reading it to Charlie full of tears before you know it! Tears are good. Particularly tears of joy and love! Can't wait to see a post someday of you reading this to your little man!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the book! Looks wonderful. I'm going to Amazon right now to get it!
ReplyDeleteSounds precious - I'm going to Amazon right after I post this comment to check out this book :) I still cannot read "A Mother for Choco" yet without crying, so I've just stopped trying for now. Kevin cries at that book too!
ReplyDeleteThinking of y'all as you endure the wait... whatever it takes!
I have this book also. A friend from church who also adopted gave it to me. I didn't make it through the first page without crying. Such a wonderful book!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing. I too have ordered this book from Amazon and can't wait to get it. Thinking of you guys and so hoping to hear good news coming from your way very soon!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds wonderful - I'm going to check it out. Is it a bad sign that I teared up at the line you quote above?
ReplyDeleteLike Amy, I can't read a Mother for Choco without crying. I also can't read On the Night You Were Born without some tears - this one isn't really an adoption book but it talks about how the entire world celebrated the child's birth.
Also, I'll Love You Forever makes me cry.
Ugh. Now I sound like a total sap so I'm going to stop with this list.
What a blessing you both will be to Charlie and he to you! Love to youi all and praying daily for you 3!
ReplyDeleteOhhh we have this book too and have given it as a gift a few times. It is fantastic! The first time I read it in Barnes and Noble I was a sobbing mess too!
ReplyDeleteOk, I can't believe I ordered it from Amazon on the 18th and it got here today! Love Amazon, and love the book. Thanks for sharing it with us! I was crying reading it to myself today and got all choked up reading it to Christian this afternoon. Hope you hear some good news from Pskov soon as I saw in the yahoo group they have scheduled at least one court date next month!
